Relax

Find a comfortable place where your pet feels safe and talk gently to them so that they feel calm and relaxed.

Sleep

The vet will give a small sedative injection. After around 10 minutes your pet will gently fall into a deep sleep. As they drift off you can hold, stroke or simply be near to them.

Peace

Once your pet is unconscious the vet will give them a second injection into a vein in the leg, or into their abdomen. This injection will slow and eventually stop their heart and breathing and they will peacefully pass away.

Aftercare

We do not take your pets body afterwards. However, we are able to guide you through your options and we work with trusted crematoriums in the Amersham area, who can collect your pet from your home as part of a full end of life service.

We recently had to take the heartbreaking decision to let our 18 year old Bichon Tilly go to sleep.
Having spoken to Annie I felt that it was the right time.
Paul arrived punctually and explained everything to us he tried to have minimal contact with Tilly and allowed us as a family to say our last goodbyes .
She left peacefully and respectfully with her family all around her and although it was very difficult to let her go Paul explained that she was ready which made our decision a little more bearable
I also would like to thank them for the lovely card and flowers I received today.
I would not hesitate to recommend Home Goodbye .

Paul and Annie were so considerate and comforting during the whole process from initial communication to thoughtful followup following the at home euthanasia of our sweet dog of 12 years. We could not have been in better hands and I thank you both so much for helping us through such a difficult time. I would recommend Home Goodbye to everybody in the tough spot of helping their beloved pet cross the rainbow bridge.
