Find a comfortable place where your pet feels safe and talk gently to them so that they feel calm and relaxed.

The vet will give a small sedative injection. After around 10 minutes your pet will gently fall into a deep sleep. As they drift off you can hold, stroke or simply be near to them.

Peace

Once your pet is unconscious the vet will give them a second injection into a vein in the leg, or into their abdomen. This injection will slow and eventually stop their heart and breathing and they will peacefully pass away.

Aftercare

We do not take your pets body afterwards. However, we are able to guide you through your options and we work with trusted crematoriums in the Northwood area, who can collect your pet from your home as part of a full end of life service.
